Card Description
There was blood all over her shield. All over her armor. And all over the ground, too, turning the dirt into a dark red mud.
There was blood everywhere she looked.
Staggering to her feet, Marshal Anya pulled her sword free of the bloody mud. The sucking sound was... unnerving, to say the least.
Next to the spot where her sword had been was the body of the High Constable. She was the highest-ranking officer left. There were still a few of her comrades fighting the rebels, but they were all scattered and wouldn't last much longer on their own.
"Shields!" her voice boomed across the field. "To me!"
There was no hesitation: the remaining soldiers came running. Shields locked into place next to Anya's, and the group formed a defensive ring.
Anya could tell her brethren were exhausted, but someone giving them orders had temporarily regalvanized them. She met the gaze of the soldier next to her and nodded in silent affirmation.
Whether or not they would survive remained to be seen, but one thing was certain: They would stand together until the end.
