"After we left Vornstaag, I took the opportunity to speak with some of our new zombie troops -- in the hope of learning more about their undead nature. They answered all of my inquiries with openness and good humor, until I broached the question of brains. In particular, the obsession some zombies have with their consumption.
They became quite evasive, as though embarrassed, and replied with amusing quips instead of yielding genuine information. Thus I cannot say whether this neurophagic tendency relates to the distinctive taste of brain matter, to some sort of unique smell imperceptible to human beings, or even to the longstanding theory that mankind's intellectual development was itself the result of neurophagy."
